These are works of imagination, as all fiction is. When we read, we enter into a created world where we meet new people and experience new things.
Sometimes, that created world is one with which we are very familiar: an office, a restaurant a living room, a bedroom.
Other times, the world the author has created for us is a complete fabrication, one that bears little resemblance to the “real” world we inhabit every day. These fantastic worlds may be on different planets—or they may explore the reader’s own internal landscape. Oftentimes there is a very fine line dividing reality and fantasy.
